Welcome to Our School Website

Our Mission StatementAnyone who welcomes this child in my name welcomes me.
Luke 9 v.47

All in our school are special and unique. We welcome every one into our community. We value and respect one another's gifts for the contribution they make to our daily lives. In all we do, we give thanks to God for his blessings and ask that with His grace, we can work together to fulfil every child's spiritual, social and academic potential. By this love you have for one another, everyone will know you are my followers. John 13 v.35.

We are a one-form entry (5-11) Catholic Primary School located in Brockhill Country Park, between Hythe and Saltwood, in an area of outstanding natural beauty. We enjoy spectacular views across the coastline from our light and spacious classrooms. We aim to provide a balanced, broad and creative curriculum and our dedicated staff work together to ensure that every child is valued and supported to achieve their full potential.

Prospective parents are very welcome to visit and I would be pleased to show you around. Visits may be arranged through the school office.

OFSTED MARCH 2010

St Augustine's has received a very positive Ofsted report in which the school was judged as 'Good' overall with some outstanding features. The report states that "all staff at St Augustine's are wholly focussed on ensuring that each child is valued and nurtured". They  found the Reception class to be 'an inclusive, welcoming and stimulating environment where children can play, learn and develop'.

'Achievement is good because pupils enjoy their learning and make good progress across the school' and 'girls and boys make equally good progress' were further findings by the team.

They said that 'pupils have an excellent understanding of how to keep healthy. Opportunities for developing healthy lifestyles are very well established and there is exceptional take-up in the many and varied sporting activities offered'  and that  'pupils feel very safe and protected within the school because adults are always available for them'.

SCHOOL RULES by Megan Parrott Y6

As we all know, all schools have rules. Some would probably be 'love one another'. But St Augustine's rules are a little bit more diverse. In our school, rules are like the foundation of a good society. They guide us, just like Christ our Lord, Jesus. In our school, we always try our best because we know that we can do it. Here, I feel like I am in a second home because everyone is kind and gentle. Furthermore, everybody is also caring and helpful. Here, I never feel eerie or alarmed, but joyful, because everyone loves each other. As a good man once said, "Love your neighbour like you love yourself". In addition to this, in the playground we always play co-operatively and sensibly. On the other hand, we do have very minor punishments. Small things like talking when the teacher is talking earns a yellow card. But bigger things like physical movement (poking constantly, kicking) earns a red card. (Red cards are very rare!!) Just like I said before, rules are the foundation of a good society. And I think that our school respects them happily. There is just one question left. Do you?

Thank you.

Our Rules

Be respectful.   Always try your best.  Play nicely.  Be kind.  Be caring.
